Men to Boys… 1982 Superbowl Ad

This is a game that Steve Wozniak worked on for Atari to earn some quick money for Apple production. But… look how prophetic this ad was! Men have been embracing their inner boyhood ever since TV, PC, and console gaming became available.

Night Coding

On Monday morning I woke up at 3:00 and couldn’t sleep. I tried to log in and work via my new intranet connection, but it was too slow. So I packed up and went to the office. I came home 24 hours later. I’ve had a lingering coding project using the WEBi interface that a VP has been pressuring for, so I worked on it for 16 hours straight. The result is amazing if I say so myself. Now I send out reports for all of our call centers across the country; sliced, diced, and rolled up nice, every 2 hours, fully automatic. All I have to do is check my email. Cool. Used Business Obj 13 – I was suprised how flexible it is. One night of code. Call ctr managers everywhere now have 10-12 more emails to delete daily.

spam 197 | email 2

1 day, 199 messages, 2 true emails, 197 pieces of spam.

47 with a form of the word penis; 62 for Cialis, Viagra and other drugs; 12 with the word ‘teen”; 45 say “buy”; 39 fake “delivery status notifications”, etc… etc…

It’s hard to visualize us winning the war with spam. But we will. I will not give up. Spam rots, and rot it must.

I must admit I do have a kind of interest in the science of spam… I mean, really. Here is a delivery mechanisim that the best… ALL the best minds in the computing world have been unable to solve. Blocking, filtering, that’s not solving. It’s still killing bandwidth, hogging resources of mom and pops computers with their zombie delivery schemes. And the “victim” side is interesting as well. I cannot get over how many absolutely s-t-u-p-i-d mindless idiots out there, fall for it. Damn, now I’m hungry. I love Spam, I hate spam.
