Your Urgent Help Needed

Found this at ANGRY BEAR and I think it’s hilarious… sad but hilarious. For the few (if any) that never received a spam email from some treasury related person in Uganda or another 3rd world country, you probably won’t get it. Sorry.

Dear American:

I need to ask you to support an urgent secret business relationship with a
transfer of funds of great magnitude.
I am Ministry of the Treasury of the Republic of America. My country has had
crisis that has caused the need for large transfer of funds of 800 billion
dollars US. If you would assist me in this transfer, it would be most
profitable to you.
I am working with Mr. Phil Gram, lobbyist for UBS, who will be my
replacement as Ministry of the Treasury in January. As a Senator, you may
know him as the leader of the American banking deregulation movement in the
1990s. This transactin is 100% safe.
This is a matter of great urgency. We need a blank check. We need the funds
as quickly as possible. We cannot directly transfer these funds in the names
of our close friends because we are constantly under surveillance. My family
lawyer advised me that I should look for a reliable and trustworthy person
who will act as a next of kin so the funds can be transferred.
Please reply with all of your bank account, IRA and college fund account
numbers and those of your children and grandchildren to
wallstreetbailout@treasury.gov so that we may transfer your commission for
this transaction. After I receive that information, I will respond with
detailed information about safeguards that will be used to protect the
funds.
Yours Faithfully Minister of Treasury Paulson

Just another reason why the Internet rules.

And the waiting begins…

I had an interview today for a promotion. I’ll know something in 5-10 days. Anxiety bites.

Motorradausfahrt

I took a ride with my old friend Andy and his son Kyle on Sunday. We met up at Dunkin Donuts in Newnan, GA, then we headed over to Stone Mountain to The Village Corner German Restaurant and Bakery. Both of our families are from the same area of Germany, and we both still love the cooking we grew up with, which is evident.

Andy and I met in 1987 or 88, can’t remember, but I worked for him back in 89 for about 6 months up in Canada, doing project management… one of the best times I ever had while actually working. We stayed in touch for a while but not for the last 10 years, that is until Andy showed up in Columbus a few weeks ago. He was on a motorcycle that looked almost exactly like mine and had the same beard and mustache as me. Great mind think alike.

Most memorable moment: Andy was messing around with his GPS and ran right through a red light where a cop was already stopped… If I only had my camera out for that one! No ticket – but a few blocks up at another red light, a motorcycle cop busted someone for running a red-light right in front of us. Andy’s lucky day – not because he didn’t get a ticket, but because he didn’t get t-boned.

After Stone Mountain, they headed back toward Rome and I to Columbus. I went around downtown Atlanta (about 20 miles) on I-285 where the holiday traffic was horrific, wheel to wheel at 70 MPH. I knew I-85 South would be more of the same, plus it had 30 miles of construction. Since it was so crowded and hot on the concrete highway I opted to take the back roads home, winding down through middle Georgia on curvy, country roads. There was a storm skirting me nearly all the way, occasionally cooling me off with a little rain. Even with the rain, the ride was enjoyable, and I look forward to the next one.

Total trip time – 9 hours 50 minutes
Total distance (for me) – 278.9 miles

Here’s a very short video from the day:
